The Journal of Basra Studies is a peer-reviewed academic journal in the humanities, published by the Center for Basra and the Arabian Gulf Studies at the University of Basra since 2006. The journal publishes four issues annually, featuring scholarly research in both Arabic and English, in print and electronic formats.

The journal publishes studies and research in the fields of literature, languages, the humanities, law, and political science. It also publishes a specialized issue devoted to legal studies as one of its four annual issues.

The journal has been awarded the Arab Citation & Impact Factor (ARCIF) since 2019. It seeks to strengthen its presence in international databases and indexing services and to meet the standards of internationally recognized journals with a global impact factor. The journal provides free access to its scholarly content for readers and researchers.
