The Uma Project Novel: A Reading in the Light of Environmental Criticism

Abstract

The researcher chose environmental criticism to approach this novel for it is one of the main concepts in literature that emerged in the postmodern stage, including: interpretation, colonialism, gender, culture, history, context, and reading.

Environmental criticism is concerned with studies of place, nature and the environment in creative discourses and texts, trying, as is the case with other forms of postmodern criticism theories, to reveal the relationships of the dominant discourse existing in literary texts, this discourse that exploits what surrounds man of living creatures and nature.
