The Geographical Distribution of Primary Health Care Center in Abo- Al-Khasib District by Using GIS

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the efficiency of health care services provided in primary health care centers in Abe Al-Khasib city, the center of Abe Al-Khasib District in Basra Governorate, through a set of local and international standards depended for the year 2022. In addition, it works on studying the spatial distribution of those centers through modern geographic technologies represented by information systems. Geography is based on the spatial campus analysis tool (Buffer), as the descriptive analytical approach based on quantitative methods was adopted within the (Arc toolbox) environment. It is clear in the current study which is conducted in (9 centers) within the city that there is a clear defect in the quantitative and qualitative sufficiency of these centers, in addition to their irregular distribution throughout all parts of the city in proportion to the number of residents in each area of the city, which requires the relevant authorities, such as health, municipalities, planning, and the mayor in the Abe Al-Khasib district. Reconsidering future plans to keep pace with the large and accelerating expansion of this district in terms of health and primary health services.
